Our Story
The Christian Praise & Worship Center, formerly known as the Alpha Omega Reformed House of God, was founded on March 10, 1961, by the late Bishop Aaron Herbert Lee Moore, Sr. Bishop Moore was a charismatic Pentecostal preacher, visionary leader, and spiritual father whose ministry was marked by powerful preaching, sound teaching, and a strong emphasis on deliverance and soul-winning. Through his anointed ministry, countless lives were transformed as people experienced salvation, healing, and spiritual renewal. Bishop Moore carried a deep burden for the lost and was known for hosting impactful revivals, crusades, and gatherings where the power of God was evident and many were led to Christ.
Under Bishop Moore’s leadership, the Reformed House of God became widely known for its powerful worship services, dynamic preaching, and anointed music ministry. The church developed a reputation throughout Charleston, the Carolinas, and up and down the East Coast as a place where the presence of God was tangible and lives were changed. Bishop Moore also served as the General Overseer of the Reformed House of God Fellowship of Churches, providing spiritual leadership and oversight to churches both nationally and internationally. Through his leadership, ministers were trained, churches were strengthened, and a legacy of faith and holiness was firmly established.
After nearly 40 years of faithful and dedicated service, Bishop Moore was called from time into eternity, leaving behind a powerful spiritual legacy. Following his passing, his daughter, Pastor Lonnie Moore Palmer, assumed the role of Senior Pastor. For more than 25 years, Pastor Palmer faithfully carried the vision forward, leading the ministry with strength, compassion, and spiritual authority. With more than 40 years of ministry service, she became widely respected as a charismatic preacher, teacher, evangelist, and gifted musician. Known for her melodic soprano voice, Pastor Palmer was also a renowned choir director, organist, and singer whose music ministry touched countless lives and helped cultivate powerful worship experiences.
Pastor Palmer’s ministry extended far beyond the local congregation. As the founder of Lonnie Palmer Ministries, she reached thousands of women throughout the Southeast through conferences, crusades, and gatherings designed to strengthen faith and encourage spiritual growth. The impact of this ministry spread across the region, with ministry plants and continued influence in Washington, D.C., Florida, and throughout the Carolinas. Through her preaching, teaching, evangelism, and musical ministry, Pastor Palmer continued to build upon the strong spiritual foundation laid by her father, ensuring that the church remained a place of deliverance, faith, and transformation.
For over half a century, the ministry of the Reformed House of God—now known as Christian Praise & Worship Center—has stood as a pillar of faith in the region. Known for its powerful preaching, strong teaching, vibrant music ministry, and emphasis on deliverance and soul-saving, the church has impacted generations of believers across Charleston, the Carolinas, and the East Coast.
Today, this rich legacy continues through the leadership of Pastors Javetta and Timothy Campbell, who now serve as the pastors of Christian Praise & Worship Center. Building upon the spiritual foundation laid by Bishop Moore and Pastor Palmer, they remain committed to preaching the Gospel, strengthening believers, and continuing the ministry’s long-standing tradition of powerful worship, transformative teaching, and Kingdom advancement.
